After years of tightness in my arch that I just kind of… lived with, my trainer finally handed me this weird spiky ball and told me to stand on it. Turns out, he was onto something. It’s helped me loosen up tension I didn’t even realize I was clenching, especially after long hikes or workouts. Relaxing into it (instead of wincing and holding your breath) has actually helped me connect to my body more. It’s not magic, but it kind of feels like it.

Since I was already on the Naboso train, I figured I’d give these a shot too. The second I put them on, I realized just how wrecked my pinky toes were—totally squished from years of shoes doing their thing. It reminded me of a boat tour in Kauai, when I noticed the captain’s feet were stretched out and grounded, probably because he’s barefoot all the time. Imagine how much more strength and balance we’d have if we actually used the full platform of the feet we were given. These help you start doing exactly that.

We originally got this to match another mat for training BJJ at home. It didn’t line up quite right, but it ended up becoming our go-to for stretching, mobility, and home workouts. We’ve had this thing for nine years. Not even joking. The outer layer disappeared at some point, but we still use the inner core constantly to roll out our backs, legs, and glutes after tough workouts or long hikes. I love how neutral and compact this one is—doesn’t scream “gym bro” and doesn’t take up a ton of space. It’s perfect for when the other recovery tools just aren’t cutting it. I’m a total level 1 kind of person, but the hubs goes straight to level 3 like he’s trying to jackhammer a knot into submission 😂. Handy to keep around for everyday tension or post-workout recovery.

Don’t let this tiny bar fool you—it’s brutal on tight IT bands but so easy to travel with. I use it on calves and hamstrings when I don’t have time to pull out the foam roller. Lightweight, simple, and it even comes in a few color options, which is always a win. One of those small-but-mighty recovery tools that earns its spot in the bag.

Another small but mighty tool that’s stuck around for years. We only have one left now, but when nothing else can reach that one impossible knot, this is what we grab. It’s great for deeper pressure and larger surface areas when a foam roller just isn’t hitting right. Super solid for yoga recovery or anytime you need to dig in and release tension.

This tool has been a game changer for reaching those stubborn knots you can’t get to with anything else.
